Originally created in 2023 and named after inaugural recipient Gary Roberts, the Youth Lifetime Award is awarded annually to a recipient(s) based on several factors. Recipients must have begun their pitching career in the youth divisions of the NHPA and pitched in both youth and adult events. Candidates should be tenured members of the NHPA competing at a high level in either the adult or youth ranks. Candidates must have also been involved in administrative or promotional efforts during their career and be regarded as having high levels of sportsmanship on and off the courts. The Gary Roberts Youth Lifetime Award is presented at the annual NHPA Hall of Fame Banquet and is selected on an annual basis by a committee consisting of the Robert’s Family, the NHPA Youth Director, and the NHPA President.
